HIT 2930 - Professional Practice Experience II 2 Credits
Prerequisite(s): HIT2920 The second of two supervised professional practice experiences that provides students with medical coding work experience, using the International Classification of Disease, 10 Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM) and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding tools. Students will work under the supervision of a qualified Registered Health Information Administrator, Registered Health Information Technician or other qualified personnel to whom they are assigned. Students will also receive college faculty consultation. This simulated professional practice experience is designed to enable students to obtain actual work experience in theoretical and application-based procedures previously studied. This professional practice consists of 120 hours. In addition, students will also be prepped for the Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) examination as well as preparing for the job market after graduation. Offered (Spring)
