The phlebotomy certificate prepares students to work as phlebotomists, highly-trained laboratory professionals whose primary responsibility is the collection of blood specimens through venipuncture and skin puncture techniques. Phlebotomists are employed in a wide variety of settings, including hospital laboratories, clinicals, physician offices, private laboratories, blood collection centers, home health agencies, and home visits for insurance agencies.
