Basic Law Academy Certificate

The Basic Law Academy certificate prepares an individual to become a law enforcement officer in the state of Ohio.  Academy standards are set by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission.  Areas covered include, but are not limited to: administration, legal, human relations, firearms, driving, investigation, traffic, patrol, civil disorders, unarmed self-defense, and first aid.  After successful completion of both courses the student is eligible to take the state certification examination for a law enforcement officer.   LAC 2031 and LAC 2041 must be taken consecutively.
