Program of Study
The Associate Degree Nursing program prepares graduates to function as registered nurses in hospitals, nursing homes, and other health care agencies. Registered nurses promote health for patients through assessment of body systems, implementation of the nursing process, application of treatment modalities, patient education, and rehabilitation care. Upon completion of the program, the graduate is eligible to take the NCLEX examination for licensure as a registered nurse.
BIO 1240 and BIO 1245 must be completed before the second semester of the Nursing program.
The faculty has identified the following Learning Outcomes for all graduates:
- Demonstrate autonomy in completing physical, psychosocial and spiritual assessments of patients.
- Plan and implement an individualized plan of care using evidence base practice and technology for patients across the life span.
- Assess and integrate the educational needs of patients in the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health.
- Practice within the realm of the professional nurse as defined by law and guided by ethics.
- Deliver safe, patient centered care in a manner that is sensitive to the patient’s cultural diversity.

Entry Level Requirements for RN degree program:
- Completion of TEAS entrance examination.
- GPA of at least a 2.8 on a 4.0 scale or higher in program courses.
- Students will be admitted based on a point scale and will be ranked accordingly.
