Program of Study

An Associate of Science (AS) degree is a two-year program that provides a general education for those interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) or Business fields. An AS degree helps students gain useful career skills and is also designed to serve as a stepping stone into a bachelor degree program at a four-year college or university.

To make an informed selection of Ohio Transfer 36 (OT36) courses, Terra State advises the transfer-intending student to consult the receiving institution to ensure maximum transferability and application of credits.

ENG 1050 - College Composition I 3 Credits
ENG 1060 - College Composition II 3 Credits
SPE 2010 - Effective Speaking 3 Credits

Notes:

This degree fulfills the requirements of Ohio Transfer 36 at all other Ohio public colleges and universities.

*ENG 1020 Introductory College Composition 5 Credits may be taken in place of ENG 1050.

**Any OT36 Mathematics course 3-5 Credits.

*** Any two OT36 Natural Science courses 3-4 Credits each.

****Elective courses may be selected among any subject area to combine with the above requirements to complete a degree with at least 60 credit hours. Care should be taken to select elective courses that meet the specific requirements of the four-year institution. Developmental courses may not be used as an elective.

Students may elect to earn a general AS degree or pursue one of the following, though the degree will reflect a general AS:

Biology
Business
Pre-LPN to RN (Preliminary coursework for acceptance into the LPN to RN Degree)
Pre-Medical Assisting (Preliminary coursework for acceptance into the Medical Assisting Degree)
Pre-Nursing (Preliminary coursework for acceptance into the Nursing Degree)
Pre-PT Assistant (Preliminary coursework for acceptance into the Physical Therapist Assistant Degree)
