MED 1600 - Medical Billing and Coding

This course provides study of the medical office procedures performed in the doctors’ offices, clinics, and hospitals. Emphasis is placed on proper medical billing, maintaining patient billing records and payment collection techniques. It teaches students entry-level skills needed to code, classify, and index diagnoses and procedures for the purpose of reimbursement, standardization, retrieval, and statistical analysis.
