SPE 2300 - Introduction to Communication Theory

Directed toward understanding and applying communication theory in various contexts and for various communication outcomes, SPE 2300 introduces students to major foundational theories that inform the field of communication. The course emphasizes theories that focus on the self, the message, relationship development, groups and organizations, the public and the media, as well as the role of cultural understanding in effective communication.
