CIT 1400 - Networking I 4 Credits
Co-requisite(s): CIT1241 This course introduces the architecture, structure, functions, components, and models of computer networks. Students learn the fundamentals of networking concepts, including protocols, network addressing, Ethernet, and network device configuration. Through hands-on labs and simulations, students gain practical experience configuring routers and switches, implementing IP addressing schemes, and establishing basic connectivity in a small network. The course emphasizes the OSI and TCP/IP models, network media, and foundational troubleshooting skills. This is the first course in the Cisco Networking Academy CCNA sequence, preparing students for advanced networking study and industry certification. Offered (Spring)
