ENG 1850 - Introduction to Literature

Prerequisite(s): College level reading
Co-requisite(s): ENG1020or ENG1050
Introduction to Literature provides foundational exposure to the three primary genres of literature: fiction, poetry, and drama. The course also provides foundational exposure to current critical approaches to analyzing literature: reader-response, formalist, historical, psychological, mythological and gender. Students will develop an enhanced appreciation for the broad arena of literature and its forms, as well develop enhanced critical thinking skills through application of the critical approaches.
