Introduction to the concepts and basic features of electronic computers. Emphasis on the understanding of the terms used in the computer industry to describe hardware, software, procedures, data communications, and security. Laboratory exercises include an overview of the workstation operating system, an introduction to a Windows-based word processing, spreadsheet, presentation graphics, database package, and internet access.
